It Don't Mean A Thing, an Eric White arrangement, and winner of the 1984 Arranger's Award at A.M.H.S., is sung by Donessa Washington. This talented young singer puts down the first improvised solo followed by Joe Rosales, tenor, and Damon Criswell, piano. The sax section then pulls away with a swinging soli followed by the rest of the ensemble and a final recap of the melody with Donessa. The ending comes quickly leaving you with the excitement only the Duke's music can produce.
